Important information below.

Please note, if you are needing FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER supplied due to an earlier start this year, you will need to choose this option in your ticket purchasing on the very first page. If you do not click with dinner Friday night you will not be able to have a catered meal at the retreat. Catering is per head. 

You can choose to bring your own, buy on the way out or eat with us. but is is absolutely important to make your choice with purchasing tickets. 

I can  not add you in for dinner at a later date. Thank you for your understanding with Friday night dinner, it is on trial this year and not been available in previous years.

Felt creations with Val

Val Laird is a well-known Australian designer whose beautiful projects have regularly appeared in leading Australian craft magazines. Val loves to design pretty and practical projects.  Her talent and passion for stitching can be seen in her gorgeous sewing accessories, wall-hangings, bags and quilts. Val loves to share her wide experience in   craft and has taught at craft retreats and workshops in South Australia and Queensland. Her designs may be viewed at

Silver Smithing with Karlene

As well as silversmithing and many other crafts, I enjoy doing beading projects. There are many beautiful crystal, gemstone and glass beads available and I like to use these to create all styles of beadwork. Beaded chains are a favourite but I enjoy all types of jewellery-making! I also run my own jewellery, beading and craft supply business called Chain Reaction. Paper Crafting with Cheryl

I enjoy being involved in the Papercraft and Art industry and have learned many techniques.

I design, create and teach craft workshops in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs area, including card making, scrapbooking, mixed media and art journal workshops.

 But above all, I hope you enjoy your creative time away from your usual weekend duties and have a most wonderful time with us at this years Creative Craft Retreat!

Update concerning 2018 retreat

Hello everyone,

The retreat planning has been a busy one. I have secured 3 amazing teachers. The blog is now updated with the workshops including costs. You can see them all here plus the info about 'Do you own thing' - which is still very much a large part of the retreat. http://creativecraftretreat.blogspot.com 

I have worked with the wonderful Leanne Midgely to get the booking site up to date (Actually Leanne has done all the work, I have just added all the suggestions, and there were a few tricky ones to get happening) So a very big thanks to you Leanne!!!

Not long now until the booking site opens. Please remember the retreat will be capped at 50. So first in best dressed. I cant hold spots so please avoid the disappointment and don't ask. I appreciate your help with this. 

Friday night dinner will be an option too. You can either bring your own dinner Friday night or grab a bite on the way out or have it with us, the choice will be yours. Retreat is open from 4pm, you can check in, set up your room and start crafting, or chatting... with the official opening being later on. This way those coming later wont miss a thing. 

Looking forward to seeing you all. I am very excited to be able to bring the retreat available to you this year.

Creative Craft Retreat 2018

Hello everyone, Yay my first blog post for the 2018 Retreat!!!

This email went out this week, if you didn't receive it please let me know so I can add you to the email list. My list may be outdated and your patience would be greatly appreciated as I take over the Craft Retreat. I will add the emails here for those who prefer to keep up to date with the blog. :)

Hello everyone,

If you aren't already aware through our Creative Craft Retreat web page or Facebook page, Creative Craft Retreat is running once again this year in association with Toowoomba Community Baptist Church. 

My name is Carolyn (Cally) Brunner. I am the new 2018 Coordinator for the Craft Retreat. 

I have taken over coordinating Craft Retreat from Leanne Midgley and it will run along similar lines as previously, although if you've been before, you may notice a few changes here and there!  There wont be too many changes as I have been an active participant at the Camp for 3 years running. So I know it is a wonderful weekend for crafters as it is. 

As always, it will be a wonderful weekend of crafting, chatting, fun and friendship.

It will be held this year from 4pm Friday 26 October to 3pm Sunday 28 October at Lake Perseverance (45 minutes north of Toowoomba). All the information can be found at http://creativecraftretreat.blogspot.com although it has not been updated as yet, I still need to sort that part out. I will have it up and ready for opening of registrations August 26. In the meantime, you can have a look at what has happened over the previous years camps via the social media/blog sites. You will be able to register and pay online once it is set up.  You can also find Creative Craft Retreat on Facebook at http://facebook.com/creativecraftretreat.  

There is a small price rise as Leanne was contacted early this year to advise of the camps price rise. Last year the cost was around $135, we need to raise it by $10. Workshops will be extra as per previous years and once all the information is sort for those we will notify you by facebook, blog and email.

Registrations will open August 25 and close on Saturday October 6, 2018. 

• Are you a talented crafter and would like to share your know how - please send me an email with brief info and photos of your talents. I am in the process of putting together a set of workshops for the weekend.

 

• If you have any friends or family that you would like to invite, feel free to pass on all the details. We will be capping the camp at 50 attendees. So once the bookings open, I would suggest you book to avoid disappointment.

Classes for Retreat 2017

We're so pleased to announce our classes for 2017.

This year we are running both weekend-long classes and a couple of single-session classes.

Our wonderful team of teachers are preparing to fill your weekend and help you have a finished project to take home.

Alternatively, you can choose to bring your own project to work on. Just select 'Do Your Own Thing' when you register. Read more about DYOT here.

For the first time, we also have some single-session classes available to those who choose 'Do Your Own Thing' as their main class.

Out of respect for the teachers who have carefully planned their classes to fill the weekend, if you choose to take one of the weekend-long classes, you won't be able to take a single-session class as well.

We're so excited about Creative Craft Retreat 2017!

The team have been talking and planning for a few months now.

You may have seen some of our teasers over on Facebook recently!

We don't have all the details locked in yet but we wanted to share the information we do have so you can start planning to be with us.

Retreat 2017 will be from Friday night 27 October to Sunday afternoon 29 October.

It will run very similarly to previous years with classes available or the chance to come and do your own thing.

2015 Craft Retreat Dates and Location

Craft Retreat 2015 was a little up in the air late last year, however, we are pleased to announce that we will be running Creative Craft Retreat once again!

We have booked and confirmed the dates - it will be held from Friday evening, 30 October to Sunday afternoon, 1 November 2015.

We are also glad to say that we will be holding it at Lake Perseverance, near Crows Nest in Queensland, once again, and as a result, the fees will be similar to last year.

So, pop the dates in your diary, and tell your friends about it too.  Keep updated with more information as it becomes available by entering your email address in the 'follow by email' spot in the sidebar, and you can check us out on Facebook too.

That's right, we have decided to extend the date for registrations by ten days.  Registrations now close on the 17th October, 2014.  You have ten more days to work out which class you would like to take (or do your own thing), or who is going to look after you children or pets while you are away!  Don't take too long to decide though, because some classes are filling up.

Craft Retreat 2014

We are currently getting organised for the 2014 Craft Retreat, that will be held again at the beautiful Lake Perseverance Recreation Centre, near Crows Nest in Queensland.  Don't forget to pop the date in your diary, 7-9 November 2014, and keep that weekend free!

You will be able to register and pay online, although if you are unable to do that, you will be able to organise to pay via the church office (see the link in the sidebar).  

Registrations will open mid to late August, and in the meantime, you can keep up with the latest by 'subscribing' to or 'following' these posts or blog, or 'liking' us on Facebook.  Check out the sidebar to find the option that suits you best.

A few days left!

There are only a few days left until craft retreat!  Are you excited?!

If you have registered, you will have received an email from us by now, with all the information you require as well as your class details.

Today is the last day to register your spot in the craft stall if you want to sell anything.  There are always lots of lovely crafty goodies for sale, so don't forget to bring your spending money!

Have you got your craft all packed and ready to go?

And dare I ask, have you got your name tag ready?  You can make a special one, or write your name on piece of card and pin it to your shirt!  It's always interesting to see all the different ones that people have.
