Cake Decorating 2014

Cake Decorating - Cake Decorating For Beginners

This beginners' class will go through the basics of cake decorating so that by the end of the weekend, you will have a fully decorated, single layer, round or square cake in a style that you choose. Learn how to place fondant icing on a cake, and decorate with your choice of decorations. You will be taught how to make gum paste roses, as well as other flowers if you wish. Some basic piping skills will also be taught using royal icing.  If you have a picture or an idea of a cake that you particularly want to use, this can be catered for in the class, or cover and decorate a fruit cake for your Christmas celebrations.

These extra requirements are expected to cost approximately $14-45 depending on cake tin and equipment you already have.

Lynne has 30 years experience in cake decorating, and has had a love of the craft since she was young. She has made and decorated wedding cakes, christening cakes, cakes for birthday celebrations and other special occasions, and she recently made her daughter's wedding cake.  Her customers have come to her via word of mouth, and she has decorated cakes for second and third generations.

Lynne is mostly self taught and loves to pass on knowledge to others so that they can experience the joy of cake decorating as much as she has.  Along with patchwork and quilting, she finds cake decorating relaxing.
