Embroidery 2016


Our embroidery class for this year will be taught by the super talented Val Laird - you may have done a class with her previously!



Val Laird is a well-known Australian designer whose beautiful projects regularly appear in leading craft magazines including Country Threads, Patchwork and Stitching, Handmade, Patchwork & Quilting and Homespun. Val describes herself as ‘an incurable romantic’ and loves to design pretty and practical projects. Her talent and passion for stitching can be seen in her gorgeous sewing accessories, wall-hangings and bags. Val loves to share her wide experience in craft and has taught at craft retreats and workshops in South Australia and Queensland. Her designs may be viewed at val-laird.blogspot.com.

The project is a sweet folder in the shape of a cottage, measuring 11 x 13.5 cm (4½ x 5½ inches) The design features applique and embroidery with pretty hollyhocks growing beside the entrance. Hollyhock Cottage can be made into your choice of a needle case, or tissue holder or card wallet.

The kit includes everything needed to make the project – fabrics, felt, batting, embellishments, threads, and pattern.
